Technology
Sustainability is a key pillar for LPC, as it is a pioneer in the collection of used lubricants and their re-refining back into valuable base oils.
Our vision is to operate in a world of Zero Waste preserving Natural Resources and preventing Climate Change. This is the reason why we employ the Best Available Used Re-refining technique in order maximize Environmental benefits though the Regeneration of Used Lubricant Oils.

Re-refiningProcess
LPC has pioneered in EuropeLPC has pioneered in Europe introducing the Catalytic Hydrogeneration method for Re-refining, already from 1980’s. Since its first application, the catalytic hydrogenation process proved successful in creating high quality re-refined products. Through continuous investments & upgrades, Hydrogeneration continues to deliver the best available products in terms of Base Oil quality and Material re-utilization remaining the process of choice for new Re-refining units building.

Re-refined Base Oils, produced by catalytic hydrotreatment, are of high quality as they inherit the quality of virgin oils and gain additional improvement by the re-refining process. Moreover, hazardous compounds found in waste oils are eliminated and thus, re-refined Base Oils are totally safe.

Used Engine Oil
Used lubricant oil contains water, fuel, lube oil and additives. Also contains hazardous substances like polyaromatic hydrocarbons and heavy metals.

Guard Tanks for Quality Testing
Used oil is received in pre-reception tanks for quality control and improper waste rejection.

Used Oil Feedstock
After quality acceptance, used oil is fed to re-refining process.

Dehydration
Water is separated by atmospheric distillation and treated to wastewater treatment unit.

Fuel Stripping
Fuel is recovered by vacuum stripping and sent to crude refinery for further processing.

Vacuum Distillation
Lube oil fraction is received by high vacuum distillation supported by thin film evaporator.

Propane Extraction
Bright stock is recovered by selective propane extraction of vacuum distillation residue. The remaining stream after propane extraction is valuable product for bitumen industry, called asphalt extender.

Hydrotreating
Recovered lube oil (distillate and bright stock) is catalytically hydrotreated. This is the core of re-refining technology, producing high quality and totally safe Base oils.
